Hey! I was notified via email that I had a message on Northern Harpsong! Anyway, yes, I should be able to get photos. Stills only or do you want some video as well?
True, it may even be worse on flute....but, it seems to be the nature of harp that I think I can get away with practising whenever I like as its 'soothing', no? I suppose if I played flute I could also be more easily banished to the shed out in the back paddock....
I never even thought about times when you have to play yucky modern music... Though, you know, that would sound just as bad on a flute as on any other instrument!
Yes, "my husband wishes I played the flute" could be taken the wrong way....or just be accurate....Sometimes I practise stuff that is just plain ugly, and so repetitive it'd try the patience of a saint.
I remember preparing a really modern work, kind of "toot whistle bang" music with no melody, just a cacophony of sound reminiscent of pots and pans falling on a tile floor..you know the sort of stuff, it makes modern composers feel so clever - but is really just noise....And John had had a long day at work, and kind of wandered into the practise room bleary eyed, and kind of stood there with this exasperated expression and said quietly "Stop it ". (I wonder if modern music is a legitimate grounds for divorce...probably)
Anyway, if I played Debussy, or Jazz standards, all the time I'd be much more fun to live with.
Hi, Fred, I hereby request, in my capactiy as official busybody, that you get a pic of the Heavenly Harper concert with the lovely set designed by Esther Faulkner so we can post it here. Is that a do-able thing? And isn't it nice to get a message once in a while? I'm afraid we ignore you and I don't want you to feel left out!!!

Will you be our "Official Photographer" for the Harp Circle? We could use shots from various angles to show everyone having a great time!
