COME ONE, COME ALL! TO OUR FIRST OPEN HARP CIRCLE!

Even before the harp circle, come join the Heavenly Harpers of Houlton for their spring concert, "A Garden Party"! It will be happening Saturday, May 3 at 2 pm at the First Congregational Church, 45 High Street, Houlton, Maine. The garden party theme will be very prominent right down to the refreshments after the concert!

And now the countdown to the Harp Circle!

Northern Harpsong

Invites you to an Open Harp Circle to be held on Saturday, May 31
from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church,
46 High Street, Houlton, ME.

This is open to anyone at any skill level who is interested in playing harps. Please feel free to share this invitation with anyone in your area who might like to join us. Music will be provided. You just need to bring your harp and a music stand. (Also, bring a sandwich. Beverages and dessert will be provided.)
There is a participation fee of $10.00 ($6.00 for official members of Northern Harpsong). This fee will go toward the following:
1 A packet of music and information to take with you
2 Dessert and beverages
3 A contribution to the cost of the building use.

Advance registration is required. You can reserve a space by contacting Barbara Hogan at behh@hogansystems.net or 21 Hogan Street, Houlton, ME 04730 or Leigh Griffith at griffith@mfx.net or 57 Court St., Houlton, ME 04730 by May 15, 2008 . We will send a registration form either by email or snail mail.

Last minute participants may be accepted, but should contact Barbara Hogan to be certain of time and location. We do need to know in advance roughly how many are coming, however, to enable us to plan for space, chairs, music packets, etc. (Because music and refreshments must be purchased based on reservations, fees are non refundable.)

WELCOME!

Hi everyone!

About Northern Harpsong:

How does one become a member? Joining this site is FREE! However, the annual membership fee to join the chapter itself is $10.00 a year. We have purposely kept the fee as small as we could. This entitles members to reduced rates for any events sponsored by Northern Harpsong and includes newsletters with all sorts of harp related tips and even some sheet music!
I hope you are as excited as I am about this new "chapter" in the
development of harping in Northern Maine!
Harp On!

Good information

Be sure to checkout the discussion on Favorite Links on the Forum page. There is a lot of good information there already. There is a quite nice one on the history of harping. Add your own harping related inks, too.

Using This Site

Hi everyone! Rita posed an excellent question about posting so others can see the post. I realize that some of you may be new to this type of site. I know that I had no clue about "ning" until a couple of weeks ago. So, we are learning together! Being the "administrator" of this site allows me to 'see all'. I saw Rita's question about leaving comments for everyone to see. Unless someone sets their comments to be visible to "friends only", if you go to their page, you can read comments on thei… Continue
